Part of the mission of Forrest Goetsch Charities is to recognize organizations that are helping or have helped people through difficult times. With the events that took place in our community Forrest Goetsch Charities would like to recognize some of those that protect and serve in our community. Forrest Goetsch Charities will be donating at least 50% of all race participant fees from Forrest’s Run this year to the Everest Metro Police Department, Rothschild Police Department, as well as numerous area Fire Departments in our community.

Forrest’s Run Volunteers

Race Packet Prep:

-volunteers to fill race packets (the more the better)

Registration Coordinators: Cheryl Goetsch

Friday 6/16-2017;5-8pm, volunteers 12

Saturday 6/17/2017; 6:30-8:30 am, volunteers (ideally 12

these are the same 12 volunteers each day)

Course Marshal: Jim Haluska

Friday

Saturday ; -Village of Weston Road Workers ?

course (barricade & cone)

-Volunteers (2 teams of 2)

(2 people to set up signage & arrows on each course) 4

Start & Finish Set-up, scaffolding (if used) finish shoot, etc 4

Course Sentries- 2 per turn, final course unknown 20?

Course clean-up- cones, signs, etc. 4

Water Stations: (need coordinator)

- 3 Water Stations (2 volunteers/100 runners); 10 per station

(more volunteers at 1st station, less @ 2nd and less @3rd (26ish?)

Timing: Performance Timing, John Burke

- Volunteers at finish shoot (back-up order) 4

- Volunteers to post results 1

Recovery Tent: (need coordinator)

- Tent set-up (eve before) / take-down (following) 4

- Volunteers to prep and staff (2 per 100 runners) 10

  • Need in-kind donations of beverages, fruit & carb
  • (bananas, watermelon & cookies, bagels or muffins)

Sponsor Coordinator: (need coordinator)

- Map tent locations

- Volunteers to assist (depends on number of tents, etc) 11 or 2

Music Coordinator: (Cheryl Goetsch?)

  • Volunteers to assist collecting names, locations, Submit to website, assist as needed, provide water, other? 1 or 2

- Volunteer Musicians (the more the merrier) ?

Refreshments for Volunteers: (need coordinator)

  • Volunteers (1 per 25) 2-3
  • Find in-kind donation of coffee, donuts (other?)

Photographer: 1-2

Entertainment: Dale coordinating this?

"Rabbit" & "Sweepers":

- "Rabbit" leads the race; 2 mile & 5 mile 2

  • "Sweepers" are the last to come-in from the race &

assist those that are having difficulties or need a ride to the

finish or need medical attention. (2 per race) 4

Parking: (Mt Olive Team?; 1 per/ 100? 5

National Anthem: (Bonnie checking on recommendation) 1

Emcee: Radio Station in-kind sponsor? 1-2

Awards: Paula Goetsch Coordinating

-Volunteers, one to announce, once to select appropriate

award, and one to hand award to recipient

(perhaps Steve, Paula and emcee will be these three?) 3

Clean-up:

  • General grounds clean-up 5-10

(not including the CC runners filling the goodie bags) 116-138

since they will not need volunteer t-shirts

** Also note that a number of these positions may be filled with duplicate people
